Error while establishing a connection to the licensing server

If you encounter the following message while trying to use IronPDF, it means the licensing server cannot be reached, and thus, IronPDF cannot retrieve the appropriate response to activate the library.

IronPdf was unable to establish a connection to the licensing server. A valid internet connection is required for TEAM-type License Keys. In restricted environments, you need to whitelist https://licensingapimanager.azure-api.net. For projects that require offline air-gapped environments with unlimited devs, projects, and locations, please consider the Unlimited Enterprise License at https://ironpdf.com/licensing/?utm_source=errormsg. For help, please reach out to us at https://ironsoftware.com.

To resolve this, you must have an active internet connection, which allows IronPDF to establish a secure connection to the licensing server and obtain the library keys. Please double check and validate the internet connection and that should resolve the issue.

Connection Error Despite a Valid Internet Connection

As of right now, for users using the current version of IronPDF(2024.10.x), this error message can happen randomly at times, even if there is a valid internet connection. This is due to the licensing server having a timeout setup that sometimes times out the connection internally and thus throws the error message above.

Solution

If the above method of trying to validate whether there is an internet connection does not work, the alternative solution is to rerun the project on the application end to resolve this issue. We currently have plans to resolve this issue by removing the timeout lock mechanism away from the licensing server to potentially resolve this issue in the next release of IronPDF(2024.11.x). Please be assured a fix will be released to address this issue.
